Babel Fish AI captures your voice through your browser's microphone, transcribes it in real-time using AI APIs (Mistral AI, OpenAI or your own endpoint), then optionally translates the text into your chosen language.

Which languages are supported?

Babel Fish AI supports 15 languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

Is the extension free?

Yes, Babel Fish AI is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. You will need an API key from Mistral AI or OpenAI to use the transcription and translation services.

Yes, Babel Fish AI respects your privacy. Audio is not stored - everything is processed in real-time. Communication with APIs is done via secure HTTPS. No personal data is collected.
